As a Hospice Director of Healthcare Services/RN, here's a big-picture view of what you'll do:

Oversee the delivery of hospice care to patients and their families, ensuring the highest quality of care in accordance with home health and hospice regulations and standards
Ensure hospice staff levels are sufficient to meet the needs of patients and families
Recruit, hire, orient, train and oversee hospice staff providing patient and family care
Assist Hospice Administrator in the preparation and management of budgets and financial reports
Evaluate patient care and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory standards
Maintain inventory of medical supplies, equipment and medication to meet patient needs

Requirements
A few must-haves for a Hospice Director of Healthcare Services/RN:

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program
Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred
Active license to practice as an RN in the state(s) in which patient care is provided.
One (1) - two (2) years of hospice experience as a Registered Nurse within the last seven (7) years preferred, or as prescribed by state law and regulation if such exceeds these requirements.
Three (3) years of hospice or related health care organization experience managing caregivers within the last five (5) years.
