Job Summary and QualificationsThe RN Stroke Program Coordinator is responsible for coordination, maintenance, and growth of the Stroke Program in collaboration with the Stroke Medical Director through professional relationships with interdisciplinary staff, intensivists, hospitalists, and emergency physicians. Conduct monthly Stroke Program meetings for the evaluation of outcomes, policy and protocol development, and review of current best practices. Provide leadership to enhance current Stroke Program through networking and ongoing education. Coordination of process improvement activities which include assignment to various departments for required follow up to improve performance outcomes. Responsible to track, report, and submit hospital Stroke data to Quality Department and national benchmarking agency(s). Consult with healthcare team and patients during hospitalization. Development and collaboration on patient teaching materials. Responsible for staff development regarding care of the Stroke patient and development of related materials.
The position requires intimate knowledge of both department and hospital policies. Interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations along with management and supervisory skills inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion is essential. Written, computer, telephone skills and manual dexterity are required.
What qualifications you will need:Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
