Plains is looking to add a Turnaround Manager located at our Empress facilities that is approximately 105 km north of Medicine Hat. Reporting to our Director for NGL Operations, this position will be responsible for planning, executing and finalizing turnaround projects within strict deadlines and budget. The successful candidate will ensure the proper people resources are in place, coordinating the efforts of the team members and third-party contractors to deliver projects according to the plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Coordination: Lead the planning and execution of turnaround projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Resource Management: Manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize efficiency.
  • Budget Oversight: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure work meets quality standards and complies with industry regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completion of your Journeyman Certificate as a millwright or electrical/instrumentation
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in the planning and execution of major maintenance activities ideally within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale turnarounds.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is an asset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
