The Department of Family Medicine at the Banner - University Medicine Phoenix is hiring a Family Medicine Psychologist to join our residency program as the Behavioral Director in a well-established residency program. This is a unique opportunity to have a clinical practice in an academic environment with a collaborative and interdisciplinary care team! The selected individual will be responsible for the clinical care of both adolescents and adults, co-located at Banner Family Medicine Clinic in beautiful Central Phoenix. Clinical responsibilities include outpatient and inpatient care, partnership with collaborative care team to ensure patients receive comprehensive care, and teaching and advising in the residency program core curriculum. Our University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix Family Medicine Residency is an 8/8/8 program and the original Family Medicine Residency in Arizona. We have a long, established tradition of excellence in behavioral training for our family medicine residents.

Location:

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix Campus l Family Medicine Clinic - Edwards Medical Plaza, 1300 North 12th Street, Suite 500, 605 and 608, Phoenix, AZ 85006

Essential Functions:

Outpatient visits/Inpatient consults

Assist with follow up appointments and treatment plans

Half day clinics for teaching/supervising residents

Resident wellness involvement to ensure support and resources

Residency administration including serving as a member of the recruiting committee, Clinical Competency Committee, and Program Evaluation Committee.

Didactic teaching on behavioral topics for medical students and family medicine residents

Minimum Qualifications

PhD

Primary Care or Involvement with Family Medicine residency experience preferred

Experienced Family Medicine Psychologist a plus

Desire to practice and engage in an academic setting

Highly qualified new graduates will be considered
